About

WebXRPress is an open source project created by Stephen J. Carnam. The purpose is to have a boilerplate for creating virtual reality solutions with distinct project goals:

  • FOSS free open source software
  • Easily blend and intermix 2D web within 3D VR
  • Easily host/embed 3D VR within 2D web
  • Ultimately author VR from within VR (and future XR)
  • Implement avatars and related technology
  • Facilitate low code application development
  • Coordinate multi-user 3D VR sessions

With these project goals in mind; WebXRPress will be based on (as the name partially implies) the WebXR standard. To reach the goal of intermixing the existing 2D web within 3D virtual reality; WebXRPress will utilize existing open source projects such as (but not limited to) WordPress, Jitsi, and PlayCanvas engine.
